A Massachusetts native, Eric moved to San Diego in 1976 and earned Associates degrees in English and Computer Science from local community colleges. He has been the coordinator of the Sierra Club San Diego’s Canyons Campaign for over 7 years. He served as chair of the Chapter’s Executive Committee in 1999 and 2000 and helped build the Canyons Campaign from its inception. Bowlby has also served for years on the City of San Diego Wetland Advisory Board and Open Space/Canyons Advisory Board.

Martha is a native San Diegan. She studied visual arts and sociology at UCSD. She has been employed by the San Diego Chapter of the Sierra Club for four years and has been active on the Land Use and Desert Committees there. Martha currently sits on the board of directors at the Desert Protective Council. Her hobbies are native gardening, hiking, cooking, camping, reading, and collecting indigenous artwork. She has traveled extensively in desert regions throughout Utah, New Mexico, and Southern California. Currently, Martha resides in La Mesa, California with her husband Paul.

Catie Fyfe, Conservation Program Assistant

Catie is a native of Cape Cod Massachusetts. She completed her masters degree in 2006 at the University of Rhode Island where she worked with community fishing organizations after finishing her bachelors at Mount Holyoke College. Her previous work experiences include eco-tourism guiding, tall ship maintenance, whale researcher and educator for at-sea and experiential education children’s programs. Her hobbies include surfing, swimming, gardening, snorkeling and hiking with her dog Sophie.
